Term 2
Week 3

This week we have been very busy getting into the groove of our Technology projects. The children are moving through the technology cycle and at each stage reflecting on what they have done and what is the next step. We had a fantastic trip the the Ashburton Ecocentre where the children saw the recycling centre, the rubbish pit being squashed into bins to travel up to Christchurch, and then choose things from the shop to contribute towards their project for our Technology unit this term. Thank you to Lesley who was a great tour guide and gave us a lot of information to think about.

We were also very thankful to have received the ANZ netball grant and receive brand new uniforms for our school. The children are happy with them and will be playing with pride out on the court with them for the rest of the season.

Week 9

The year 4/5/6 overnight camp was a great success. The children really enjoyed being able to set themselves up in a tent and to organise themselves so they are ready to camp out. They loved the rotation activities we had organised for them and enjoyed fish and chips and fresh fruit and bickies for supper. Enjoy some of these pictures from camp.

Term 1
Week 8

This week has been a week of support. The children decided to show their support for the Muslim community and the emergency services. They thought that the ambulance and police officers were amazing. These amazing hearts are going to them this week and we hope they enjoy receiving them in the mail.

We have also been working on our sketching, shading, and drawing skills by completing our own self portraits. The children showed great perseverance and listening skills. Come in and have a look at their awesome creations on display in Room 1A.

This week we have also been having Digital Curriculum Professional development sessions in the hall. The children really enjoyed learning about the vocabulary of robots and systems and enjoyed creating their own coding to make a robot go.
