Term 2
Week 9

This week we have completed some amazing pieces of Koru art work. Some of these will be displayed in the Presbyterian rooms in Ashburton and the rest will be displayed in our School Hall. Miss Hannah is very impressed with our blending and pastel skills.

Room 1A have also been working on their persuasive writing work and have been working on developing skills of friendly debate. We are getting ready for speeches next term. We have also been learning about the human body. The children worked in pairs to research a selected organ and typed it on our class drive to present information along with a human body visual in our classroom. Come for a close look to read their research.

Well done to our Senior Jump Jam team who did amazing at the Ashburton Jump Jam competition on Friday 21st June 2019. Miss Hannah was so proud of their effort and their positive attitudes, well done!

Room 1A have really set themselves expectations on how to be role models this term. We are very lucky to have buddy reading time with Room 3 for the past two terms. All of the kids love reading with each other and Room 1a students learn how to read to others with calm and positive tones and also on how to model reading strategies and sounding out for the younger students. They also really enjoy getting to read picture books.
